Trey Clark launched the Alverda Group with one vision, to bring sound business advice to small business owners. Trey is currently in the Private Equity Services practice of Alvarez & Marsal ("A&M"), a global services and advisory firm. In this role, Trey assists numerous private equity ("PE") and corporate clients with large-scale acquisitions, transformation, and performance improvement.
While working for A&M, Trey noticed an underserved market, small businesses in need of Fortune 1000 and premier PE-type advisory services. When approached by some friends to explore assisting with potentially identifying investors for an entrepreneurial venture, the concept of the Alverda Group was realized. As Trey began research with other advisory and finance professionals in the Atlanta area, a common theme was identified, small businesses could benefit from structured and experienced management consulting insight and advisory.
Prior to joining A&M and founding the Alverda Group, Trey worked in Transaction Advisory Services at Ernst & Young, a global consulting and accounting firm. While there, he was well honed in the areas of merger and acquisition diligence, project management, and quantitative analysis. Before his tutelage at EY, Trey worked with IBM Global Services, advising clients on the design, test, and build of financial systems that account for some of the world's most recognizable companies. Trey began his career as a mechanical engineer with the French-owned industrial manufacturer, Schneider Electric.
Trey is named as an inventor on a US patent, is a recipient of an MBA with concentrations in Finance and Strategy from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University, and a recipient of a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. Trey currently lives in Atlanta and enjoys exploring business and political views, domestic and international travel, is an avid sports fan, and spending time with friends and family.
